$12,000,000
57,000 s.f.
GREYHAWK provided the State University Construction Fund with construction oversight services for a new student services building at Purchase College, in Westchester County. This 57,000 s.f. project is part of a campus master plan designed to create a new center of activity for outdoor and academic events. The facility will provide centralized space for a new student business center, office-related functions, and a multi-media presentation area. It will be equipped with state-of-the-art communications systems throughout. The glass and brick building, with a two-story atrium, will create a transparent and open atmosphere, unlike many other campus structures.
The project also includes a plaza extension, to create a new quad area that combines the new building and enclosure of the Lincoln Avenue overpass. GREYHAWK is working closely with SUCF, the architect, the college staff, and the contractors in order to maintain quality, safety, schedule, budget, and coordination with ongoing campus activities.
- Purchase college is the first public college in New York devoted to the fine and performing arts
- This suburban center of learning has a campus population of more than 4,000 students
- The new student center consolidates college-wide activities in a single building that is the new focal point of the entire campus
- Construction of the new student center took place over an existing utility hub that remained operational 24/7 throughout the three year project
