GREYHAWK is currently managing a major design/build and construction project for the NYC Department of Design and Construction involving soil remediation at almost 200 city-owned properties throughout Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The first phase of this three-year project involves approximately 90 sites (predominantly fire stations, police stations, and sanitation garages) that must remain occupied and operational during assessment, construction, monitoring, and testing. Careful coordination is required to minimize the impact of the work on occupants of the facilities due to the fact that many of them have little or no down-time, and must maintain operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
GREYHAWK is responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the petroleum remediation systems (e.g. soil vapor extraction systems and multi phase systems), for coordinating and monitoring various subcontractor services, and for maintaining periodic monitoring of all 90 sites. Our project team holds the contracts for 15 subcontractors and is responsible for coordinating with various state and city agencies in order to bring these petroleum-contaminated sites into compliance with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) regulations.
